We humans have always been fairly obsessed with physicality.
This obsession likely dates back to our less sophisticated days when we were forced to gauge potential threats from afar.
We would assess whether a person or animal was dangerous or not based entirely on their physical attributes—how strong they looked, how tall they were, how fast and agile they appeared to be.
Physical violence was of course far more prevalent during these periods, and so gauging the physical prowess of the people or creatures around us became an important means of survival—picking a fight with the wrong opponent would spell certain death.
This instinctive behaviour still remains embedded in our minds today.
