Whilst intelligence, charm, talent, and creativity are valuable traits, they are only as strong as the character that supports them.

Character is the foundation of a person’s values and principles—their integrity, resilience, humility, and honesty.

It determines how they act under pressure, respond to adversity, and treat others, especially when there is no immediate reward for doing the right thing.

A person of strong character remains dependable, embraces feedback, and upholds commitments, even when it is difficult to do so.

In contrast, weak character reveals itself through dishonesty, arrogance, selfishness, or an inability to handle setbacks with composure.

As the original quote suggests, no matter how impressive someone’s abilities may be, weak character diminishes their impact.
